Publication of the new GS1 Belgilux datamodel healthcare (November 2025)
The new version of the GS1 Benelux data model for the healthcare sector (3.1.33) has been published. It will go live on 15 November 2025. Data recipients will receive data according to the new data model from then on. Suppliers should therefore ensure that any changes have been implemented by then.
Six new indicators have been added. If you’ve already entered data in these fields, you don’t need to do anything. However, we recommend checking your product sheets via the simulation report and updating them using a bulk update or an Excel export/import.
These attributes must be indicated for EUDAMED. The indicators show whether additional information is required for these attributes.
- Are there clinical sizes applicable?
 - Labelled for presence of Carcinogenic, Mutagenic, and toxic for Reproduction (CMR) of category 1A or 1B?
 - Labelled for presence of substance(s) with endocrine-disrupting properties?µ
 - Are there applicable storage/handling conditions?
 - Are there applicable critical warnings or contra-indications on label?
 - Is the device designed and manufactured by another legal or natural person?

How?
Option 1 – bulk action (if all items share the same model)
- Go to 'My products'
 - Filter 'Consumer unit' by 'yes' and 'Discontinued' = 'No'.
Optionally filter by brand if you use it in your product sheets. - Select all and choose 'bulk action'.
 - In the selection overview, you can tick 'Release needed?', set it to yes.
 - Indicate the indicators in the overview under Healthcare.
 - Enter the required data and click validate.

Option 2 – Excel
- Enter the information for one product sheet, validate and release it.
 - Go back to the product overview.
 - Filter 'Consumer unit' by 'yes' and 'Discontinued' = 'No'.
 - Select all, choose export and follow the steps to download.
Too many items? Try splitting by category or brand to keep it manageable and avoid overwriting other data if you need to correct additional errors. - Search in the Excel for the desired indicator and copy the value from the validated sheet.
 - Complete it for the other products and upload it again.
