How to create a GLN in My Locations Manager?

In My Locations Manager you can create and managed Global Location Numbers (GLNs), if you have an administrator role in My GS1.

A GLN can identify a legal entity (company), a functional entity, a physical or a virtual address.

My Locations Manager is easily reachable via your dashboard page on My GS1.

Generate GLN for meAfter filling in all required attributes, the system generates a random GLN based on one of your GS1 company prefixesThe system selects a random GLN from your GLN pack (visible in My GS1 – My Licences)
Enter GLN manuallyYou start with one of your GS1 company prefixes and complete it to 12 digits of your choice. You then end with a check digit. This digit is verified in My Locations Manager but is not added automatically.Copy the full GLN from your My GS1 account, under “My Licences”.

Step 5: Define (if desired) a hierarchy between the GLN types (selected in step 2). Below you’ll find the options per type.

You first create a GLN for the legal entity in My Locations Manager. We recommend only one GLN per legal entity.

After that, you can create new GLNs by linking locations or departments to the legal entity. You do this via the related organisation attribute linked to your legal entity (National Registration Number). This is only to create your own hierarchy between GLNs and is not required for Peppol.
