What is an Intrastat code?
The Intrastat Code is mandatory for consumer units in the Belgian, Dutch and Luxembourg markets. The Intrastat code is an 8-digit code to divide goods into categories. Intrastat codes are also called commodity codes or HS codes. The use, function and codes themselves are the same per country. The list of codes is updated annually based on adjustments required for customs and statistics.
Enter Intrastat code
Enter the 8-digit Intrastat code manually. You can find it in the list of commodity codes.
You use two fields to enter the Intrastat code in My Product Manager:
- 'Import classification type’: value identifying the agency that manages the import and export classification of the product. Select the value 'INTRASTAT' from the pick list.
- 'Import classification value’: Consumer units require a classification to classify them according to the appropriate taxes and tariffs. Enter the 8-digit code manually. You can enter multiple values if different import classifications apply to one product.
