Publication of the new GS1 Benelux FMCG & Foodservice data model (November 2026)

The new version of the GS1 Benelux data model for the FMCG & Foodservice sector (3.1.37) has been published. It will go live on 14 November 2026. Retailers will receive data according to the new data model from then on. Suppliers should therefore ensure that any changes have been implemented by then.

New and Modified Attributes

  • The attributes Warranty Duration, Warranty Duration UOM and Warranty Type are added to the data model to enable the sharing of the commercial warranty. Two warnings help ensure consistent use of these attributes (VR_DIY_B2B_0142 & VR_DIY_B2B_0143).
  • The Regulation Type Code attribute now provides a clear way to indicate whether your product bears a CE marking and whether it has been treated with biocides. For CE marking, a warning will prompt you to use this attribute (VR_DIY_B2C_0050).
  • For products that can be prepared in multiple ways, for example in the oven or in a deep fryer, the instructions for the Preparation Type Code attribute will be adapted accordingly.

Global Changes

  • The definitions of several attributes are slightly adjusted to align them with the global definitions.
  • Updated global code lists are adopted for the Benelux where necessary. No code values are removed.
  • Updated global GPC changes are adopted for the Benelux. There is no significant impact on FMCG product categories.

New and Modified Validations

  • The validations that check the correct use of the repairability index are changed from warnings to errors (VR_DIY_B2B_0074 & VR_DIY_B2B_0057).
  • Several new warnings are added to facilitate consistent use of packaging attributes.
