Publication of the new GS1 Benelux datamodel DIY, garden & pet (November 2026)

The new version of the GS1 Benelux data model for the DIY, garden & pet sector (3.1.37) has been published. It will go live on 14 November 2026. Retailers will receive data according to the new data model from then on. Suppliers should therefore ensure that any changes have been implemented by then.

Key changes:

  • In the context of data quality, all GPC bricks can now be selected. There is no longer a restriction limiting the selection to GPC bricks that already have commercial attributes. The GPC Predictor will suggest the most suitable GPC brick, which must then be available for selection when creating a GTIN.
  • It is now possible to select the colour family ‘Beige’, a much-requested option, particularly for decorative materials.
  • Changes to definitions and instructions for capturing biocides.
  • Changes to definitions and instructions for recording CE markings.
  • Implementation of changes to GPC bricks following the updated GDSN GPC publication.
  • Activation/configuration of GPC bricks 10008508 ‘Callipers (DIY) (Powered)’, 10003407 ‘Garden Power Tools Variety Packs’, 10008509 ‘Watercraft Equipment Other (Powered)’.

Expired attributes

As of 14 November, several attributes that were already announced as being phased out in the previous release, and for which replacement attributes have been created, will be discontinued. These can be identified by the expiry date 14/11/2026 in the delivered data model. The main change concerns the new way of working with the load capacity of products.

More information

The new data model (incl. change datamodel with all changes) and the overview of the validation rules can be found on our website in Dutch, French and English. In the data model itself, all the changes vs version 3.1.36 have a yellow background.
