Brasserie Caulier raises a glass to reliable data thanks to My Data Capture

Both retailers and consumers want to know exactly what’s on their shelves or on their plate. Ingredients, nutritional values, origin, and packaging: every detail matters. For producers, this often comes with a serious administrative challenge.

Brasserie Caulier faced this reality too. To simplify and improve the reliability of their product data management, they decided to use the service: My Data Capture by GS1. Baptiste Geiller, Business Partner at Brasserie Caulier, shares his experience with the solution and how it helped them make their product information as trustworthy as their brewing process.

Who is Brasserie Caulier?

Brasserie Caulier is a Belgian craft brewery with a rich tradition. Founded in 1933, and since 1966 brewing their own beers with passion and craftsmanship. The brewery is known for its three characterful beer brands: Paix Dieu, Bon Secours and Stuut. They serve a wide range of customers, from smaller brewers to large retailers like Delhaize, Colruyt and Carrefour.

Their motto: “The passion of a family that lives for its characterful beers” reflects who they are: an independent, family-driven business committed to honest products and authentic brewing. And that same honesty also applies to their product data.

The challenge of product information

“We sell to both small and large retailers, but especially the larger chains require standardised product data,” says Baptiste Geiller.

Collecting this product information was, until recently, a time-consuming process for Brasserie Caulier. “We were already using My Product Manager to send product information to our customers but gathering that data wasn’t easy. Everything had to be entered manually, which took up a lot of time,” Baptiste explains. The need for a faster, more reliable solution became increasingly clear.

Why did Brasserie Caulier choose My Data Capture?

“The choice for My Data Capture came from the need to save time and provide trustworthy data,” says Baptiste. Entering product data manually took a lot of time, so they looked for a more efficient way. “What used to take three to four hours now takes only ten minutes,” he adds.

The experience with My Data Capture – as smooth as brewing

The transition to My Data Capture was easier than expected. “Thanks to Romy, our contact at GS1 Belgilux, we got amazing support. She took the time to explain everything clearly, which gave us a lot of confidence,” says Baptiste.

For Brasserie Caulier, My Data Capture offers many benefits. “We no longer need to worry about mistakes in our product sheets, and we are confident we can get through the audit programme without issues,” says Baptiste. Thanks to My Data Capture, data quality now flows as smoothly as a perfectly poured pint.

For those who want to raise a glass to flawless product data

Baptiste recommends other manufacturers ask lots of questions to their GS1 contact. “They really guide you well. It’s not just someone behind an email address. You get real support,” he says.

For breweries supplying to large distribution channels, My Data Capture is, in his opinion, almost a must. “You can’t afford to make mistakes in your product sheets. It’s an absolute must.” Craft products like beer, made with such care and patience, also deserve the same attention in their digital handling. Thanks to My Data Capture, Brasserie Caulier can now fully focus on what they do best: brewing delicious beers that leave you wanting more. Cheers!
