Healthcare Committee

Objective

GS1 is established and governed by the industry. Healthcare professionals can actively contribute to the development of strategies, the definition of priorities and the promotion of the use of GS1 standards in healthcare.

The objective of the GS1 Belgilux Healthcare committee is to implement the strategy, set priorities and stimulate innovation, all with one shared goal: to take healthcare to the next level using GS1 standards and solutions. In addition, the committee’s agenda is shaped by research questions from GS1 Global or GS1 in Europe, specific assignments from the Board of Directors and questions from the market.

Why join the committee?

  1. Strategic decision-making: By sharing your personal insights and expertise with other experts and stakeholders, you contribute to the development of effective strategies that improve efficiency, interoperability and patient safety.
  2. Setting priorities: Together with other members, you identify which areas require additional focus and which initiatives can have the greatest impact. Jointly setting priorities helps to address challenges in a targeted way and supports innovation in the sector.
  3. Networking and knowledge sharing: The committee provides a platform to share experiences, best practices and lessons learned. This offers valuable opportunities to learn from others, gain new insights and collaborate on shared objectives.
  4. Applying GS1 standards: By joining the committee, you actively support the implementation of GS1 standards within your own organisation and across the wider sector. GS1 standards provide a uniform and standardised approach to data exchange, identification and traceability.
  5. Four meetings per year: These meetings offer a structured and regular opportunity to actively contribute to the committee’s activities. This ensures continuous involvement in the progress of initiatives and projects.
