The data quality reports of My Product Manager have shown that the wrong contact type code is one of the most common and made mistakes. For each product, there needs to be at least one contact type code with a value that equals ‘CXC’ or consumer support. .
How can you see if your products contain this error?
Check in the data quality report, which you can find in My Product Manager at “My Reports”, if there products with the error or warning: ‘contactTypeCode should be filled at least once and take the value 'CXC’ or other errors or warnings related to contact details. Follow the below steps to fill in the contact information correctly. This way, your product sheets will be visible to data recipients, even after the rerun of all system checks.
How do you fix an error or warning?
This depends on the way you register or adapt your product sheets.
Web interface My Product Manager
STEP 1
Log in to the web interface of My Product Manager with your login credentials and go to ‘My Products’.

STEP 2
Use the search function and enter the description, GTIN or brand of the product. To open the product sheet, click below ‘GTIN’ on the 14-figure GTIN of the product.
Next, click on ‘Edit data’ to edit the product sheet.


STEP 4
Click on ‘Add new’ to enable the fields for the contact details*. Fill in the field ‘Contact type’ at least once with the value ‘(CXC) consumer support’. In the field ‘Contact name’, fill in the name of the company and in the field ‘Address’ the address of the company, both as mentioned on the label.
*Have there already contact details been filled in in My Product Manager? Then verify if these are still complete and correct and adapt if needed.


STEP 5
Complementary contact details mentioned on the label, for example a phone number, e-mail address or social media, have to be filled in as well. In ‘Communication channels’, click ‘Add new’ to enable these fields. Select in the field ‘Communication channel’ what kind of communication channel it is and fill in the field ‘Contact information’ the related data of the communication channel. Add for each communication channel a new field.


- Are you a private label supplier, then you need to fill in the fields ‘Brand Owner GLN’ and ‘Brand Owner Name’ with the GLN and the name of the brand owner.
- Do you sell alcoholic beers, then you need to fill in the fields ‘Manufacturer GLN’ and ‘Manufacturer name’ for the Belgian market with the GLN and name of the manufacturer.

STEP 6
Click ‘Save’ or ‘Validate & Next’ to verify and validate the edit and the entire product sheet. Are there any other errors and/or warnings? Then these need to be resolved as well.



Through another GS1 GDSN data pool or through a machine-to-machine connection
STEP 1
Login to the user environment of your system and open the product sheet.
The next GDSN attributes are enabled fort he exchange of contact information:
- contactTypeCode, to indicate to which party the contact information belongs.
- Always fill in at least once the value ‘CXC’.
- The complete code list ‘BENELUX_GDSN_ContactTypeCode’ with valid values can be found in the Benelux data model.
- Always fill in at least once the value ‘CXC’.
- contactAddress, the address if the company as mentioned on the label.
- contactName, the name of the company as mentioned on the label.
Complimentary contact information mentioned on the label need to be filled in in the GS1 GDSN attributes*:
- communicationChannelCode, to indicate what kind of communication channel it is.
- communicationValue, the information of the communication channel.
*Fill every time only one contact detail, repeat these fields to fill in all the contact information mentioned on the label.

STEP 2
- Are you a private label supplier, then you need to fill in ‘brandOwner’ the fields ‘gln’ and ‘partyName’ with the GLN and the name of the brand owner.
- Do you sell alcoholic beers, then you need to fill in ‘manufacturerOfTradeItem’ the fields ‘gln’ and ‘partyName’ for the Belgian market with the GLN and name of the manufacturer.


STEP 3
Make sure the edit is saved and the updated product sheet is available to data recipients by releasing or (re)publishing it to the data pool.
STEP 4
Verify after releasing or (re)publishing the CIC messages and in the My Product Manager data quality report if the product sheet no longer contains any errors and/or warnings.
