The GS1 Belgilux Sustainability Working Group brings together retailers, brands, sector federations and GS1 to align the Belgilux market on key sustainability challenges and European regulatory requirements.
The working group focuses on three major regulatory frameworks
• EUDR European Deforestation Regulation
• CSRD Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive
• PPWR Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation
Discussions address practical topics such as product data quality and availability, traceability, product level CO2 reporting and the harmonisation of packaging data.
The objective is to support regulatory compliance, reduce operational complexity for companies and promote consistent, harmonised approaches at Benelux and European level, based on GS1 standards.
