Sustainability Session: PPWR

The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation is part of the European Green Deal. This Green Deal aims to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. To achieve this, the EU has introduced several regulations for businesses.

One of the regulations under this initiative is the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which aims to require companies to both reduce packaging and improve recycling. Achieving this requires collaboration between companies. On the one hand, GS1 offers the GS1 SMART-Box – a standardised foldable box that can be reused between partners.
