With Quality Docking, we aim at decreasing the number of errors that occur during the reception of goods. Issues such as unreadable barcodes or mismatch between the data on the label, the data in the DESADV and the physical goods occur too often, increasing the cycle time.
A central platform allows the participants to log, discuss and solve all errors and to have live statistics: http://ecr.gs1belu.org/ (access for participants only).
For each issue that occurs during the reception of the goods of one of the participating suppliers, the retailer creates a new case on the platform with predefined key information. The supplier gets a notification and starts his research and interaction with the retailer until the issue is solved and the case can be closed.
Nicolas Lenaerts, JDE Coffee: 'Quality Docking allowed us to set up a genuinely interactive dialogue with our trading partners. We are much easier able to identify the causes of errors that occur during our deliveries, which increases our efficiency!'
In October and November of 2016, we had a first period of error logging. In January 2017, we started a second period until end of February.
